Sony giving in to Crossplay

Sony has been holding out on its fans. They had a very clear “no” message to everyone inquiring about Crossplay with them simply insisting; “Playstation is the best place to play” why play anywhere else?”. Slightly egotistical if you ask us. However, we all really knew it would only be a matter of time before they gave in and enabled Crossplay. From a marketing and financial point of view there is no other option.

This new Crossplay mode will be tested in a beta on Fortnight for all the consoles involved in this Crossplay mode. “We recognize that PS4 players have been eagerly awaiting an update, and we appreciate the community’s continued patience as we have navigated through this issue to find a solution, The first step will be an open beta beginning today for Fortnite that will allow for cross platform game-play, progression and commerce across PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Mac operating systems.”says Sony’s PlayStation chief, John Kodera.

This off-course opens a whole new can of worms in the console war and the debate for which is better will be sparked all the more in the coming months and years. However, this allows for a much more free flowing and most importantly nondiscriminatory experience when enjoying your favorite games with friends on other consoles or machines. Hopefully this testing beta goes well and the system becomes the norm.
