Okay, We have got to talk about Pummel Party. Now how to describe this game? Perhaps Mario Party for Teenagers and grown ups? Its an inteactive board game with Mini Games after each round. It doesn’t sound that appealing, but gather some of your friends and go head to head. I have never laughed that hard for quite a while. Its just pure fun. And there are so many mini games to play. It will keep you on the edge every time. And they are good mini games too. Quite astonishing how much content the developer has been able to put in. And more keeps on coming too!
The main game is the board game portion where you(as in Mario Party) move around on the map after rolling dice. You land on special fields that can be either good or bad. For instance one pad gives you keys(which you need to open the Goal chest) which is located randomly on the map, and one pad might slash some of your HP off. The main goal of the game is to open the Goal chest and get the Golden Goblet. Not just once but up to as many times as you set in the settings(default 5), and the chest moves around everytime it has been opened. Then, when every player has moved its Mini Games time! There are over 40 minigames as of now that are randomly selected. My favorite is the “Bomberman” map. The variation is huge. in one you fly planes, another races a car, then maybe suck sand to find a chest or turn into lightning man blowing up the floor trying to kill the other players.
I played this game with 4 of my friends, and 3 of my friends and a bot. Both plays was super fun, especially when we all ratted on the Bot, he he. The game is a good mix of action an d relaxation and strategy. There is a bit of waiting between each player but thats a perfect opportunity to talk and RAGE OUT when another player steals all your keys ARGH, or blows you to smitherines right before the Chest with a Goblet or smacks you with a rocket. Yes this game has some wild powerups.
All in all its a game we do reccommend! It’s fun, well made with no bugs so far, crazy animations and more. We just hope the developer keeps adding in new content as this is a game that really needs content to be replayable in the long run. Especially the mini games.
It’s available on Steam.
