God of War Ragnarök has been a great success. During the game’s first week, 5.1 million copies were sold on both physical and digital store shelves, Sony reports.
The sequel to God of War 2018 is thus the fastest-selling game from a PlayStation studio. This was confirmed by PlayStation boss Hermen Hulst in a message on Twitter.
The game takes the throne from The Last of Us Part II, which reached four million in its first three days in June 2020. The original God of War also sold 3.1 million copies in the three days after the game’s launch.
