Earlier this year, rumours began circulating about a TV series based on God of War. According to reports, Amazon was going to create the series, and this week the company confirmed the news.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon said that the action is based on God of War from 2018. We will follow Kratos on adventures in Norse mythology, with his son Atreus in tow.
It is not yet clear who will be cast as actors. However, Amazon could reveal that Rafe Judkins, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will sit in their respective executive producer chairs. Judkins is known for his work on the TV series based on The Wheel of Time, while Fergus and Ostby have produced The Expanse and Children of Men, among others.
The project is still in its initial phase, and when filming begins has not been clarified. It is therefore also difficult to say anything about a premiere date.
