No Mans Sky NEXT Review

When No Mans Sky launched a few years ago it was met with both great disappointment and great satisfaction, depending on who you asked. For the most part though, the game was a let down. The game rose to critical viewership due to its ambitious attempts at never before achieved technologies in video-gaming such as random generation on an intergalactic scale. Although in the end the game didn’t deliver on many of its promises the developers kept working hard on an update that would change the minds of the naysayers. That update has now released, and its called NEXT.

NEXT promises and delivers, for the most part – to right the wrongs of the original launch. One of the main issues that players had generally was the dullness that came with the vastness the game had to offer. You could fly around the empty universe for hours with very little to do other than repeat some of the stuff you have done, but on a different planet. It became boring very quickly. NEXT addresses many of these issues and definitely adds a lot of quality and value to the experience. Is it now the game that it should have been at launch? We”ll let you decide for yourself! Its definitely allot closer.

One of the first things you note when playing the update is the visuals. They haven’t drastically changed the style or look of the game but the details are definitely more crisp and the game looks much better overall. The game also introduces a third person camera which looks and feels great. Another big update is the multiplayer. You can now form squads and play as the game should have originally been playable – with other people! Here is a full list of the updates :

– Multiplayer
– Character Customization
– Improved Base Building
– Third-person Viewpoint
– Updated Visuals

Notably there are allot of changes and the game is much better now overall than it was when it came out, the question remains – is it good enough? As with the launch, people are still split over that question. Depending on who you ask the answer may go from very negative to very positive. Its an experience that devides opinion. One thing is certain, the developers deserve allot of credit for their continued hard work.
