Call of Duty: WWII Preview

The world war period really seems to be the in thing again now doesn’t it? With Battlefield 1 opting the for the former with some classic themed weaponry, gear, locations and vehicles, Call Of Duty unsurprisingly has decided on the latter. With this sentiment it might seem as though there’s a certain negativity in the air regrinding this once saturated genre, but alas; it’s quite the opposite. An air of relief if you will. This is a period where the greatest stages for conflict were set all across the world and these stages when recreated make for spectacular action.

The game is set to play out across scenes ranging from Germany to Russia(USSR then), over a time lapse of many years from 1940 – 1945. The game will primarily feature boots on the ground game-play and there is set to be a lot of action in these grand campaigns ranging over various countries. You play as Ronald “Red” Daniels, a young United States Army private, as he and his squad, the legendary United States 1st Infantry Division; fight through the gripping and intense scenarios set out before them.

The game features some big names in the acting and voice acting niche to get the audio and narrative quality as good as measurably possible. The title obviously has a massive budget behind it and will boast some of the best, most gripping scenery and graphics we’ve yet seen. These scenarios are viscerally spectacular with massive amounts of decay and destruction on show, and by the looks of it; its being done right.

The game will feature a multiplayer mode, naturally; as all Call Of Duty’s do.

The title is set to introduce a number of new game elements:

– War: This narrative-driven mode brings a gripping new layer of excitement to Axis vs. Allies team play.
– Divisions: A new approach to Create-a-Class and character customization as the player enlists in a division and progress through the ranks.
– Headquarters: A brand-new, social feature for Call of Duty, where the player can rally and interact with fellow soldiers.

These will play out across these modes:

– Team Deathmatch
– Domination

The game will feature a score streak feature close to what we’ve come to expect and love in the franchise. The game is also bringing back the enticing Nazi Zombies that we saw in the classic Call Of Duty world at War back in the old golden days.

There will be a beta hosted before the actual release, in order to participate in the beta you’d would have to have pre-ordered the game.

So, it can be said that we are definitely very excited to be following this title and to see where it goes in the long run. A lot is counting on this release being a massive success, not only for the developers; but also for the fans. Over the years the interest and general belief in the franchise has started to die out because of the borderline ludicrous behavior of the marketers and developers; but it seems the good old game we’ve known is coming back. Here’s to that!
