Blizzard will release a remastered Starcraft!


Blizzard Entertainment will re-release the original StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War as a HD remake called StarCraft: RemasteredIt was announced during the company’s I <3 StarCraft event in Seoul, Korea.

StarCraft: Remastered will offer the classic real-time strategy game’s campaign and multiplayer mode updated for “4K UHD” resolution. The remaster will also include StarCraft’s “original soundtrack and dialogue, following the good old formula,” as well as revamped briefings between missions.

The most awesome news is that you can now zoom out and get a much bigger view of the battlefield! Or you can zoom in again and look at the beautiful HD remastered art!

“StarCraft is a pure distillation of Blizzard’s DNA—its story, its balance, and all the little details reflect our long-running commitment to epic entertainment, and it’s been a staple in competitive gaming and esports for almost 20 years,” Morhaime said in a press release. “With StarCraft: Remastered, we’re modernizing the original game’s visuals, audio, and online support to ensure that players can enjoy StarCraft for another 20 years and beyond.”

Other enhancements coming in StarCraft: Remastered include “advanced matchmaking; full connectivity to Blizzard’s gaming network for social features and updates; cloud saving for campaign progress, custom maps, replays, and keybinds” and support for 13 languages.
